Citation for Dr. (Mrs) N.A Eleburuike 

Dr. (Mrs) N.A Eleburuike joined the Department of Chemical and Geological Sciences in October 2010 as an Assistant Lecturer. She became a lecturer II in 2012 and has now risen to the position of lecturer I since January 2018. She holds BSc. and MSc. in Industrial Chemistry from University of Ilorin in year 2006 and 2010 respectively. She obtained PhD. in Chemistry from Universiti Tetengi Malaysia in 2018. She became the Ag. HOD of the Departmental of Chemical and Geological Sciences in April 2018.

Background History of the Department

The Department of Chemical and Geological Sciences was created in 2010 under the leadership of the pioneer Head of Department, Dr. (Mrs.) M.O Bello. Before this time, Industrial Chemistry and Geology Programmes were running under the Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences. First set of students were admitted in 2008 for Industrial Chemistry and 2009 for Geology and Mineral Sciences. The Department has since soared high and has graduated eight (8) sets of Industrial Chemistry and Seven Sets for Geology and Mining. The Department now has and additional programme B.Sc Petroleum Chemistry , making it a total of three programmes in the Department
